Toyota No 1 in Irish Motoring for 2011

Toyota Ireland has taken a clear No 1 position in the Irish motor market with a dominant 17.4% share of new passenger vehicle sales as stated in SIMI’s January 2011 report on registration numbers which was published today.
In the passenger vehicle sector Toyota sold 3,672 units. The impressive January numbers represent a significant 78% increase in Toyota’s sales compared to the same period in 2010. Overall, SIMI’s January numbers show the total market is up 29% over 2010. Toyota also continue to offer outstanding deals on scrappage making them one of the leading brands for scrappage sales in Ireland with customers able to buy a Toyota from as little as €7,995.
In related news, Toyota announced today that it is to extend its 3 years free servicing offer on new passenger vehicles until February 28th 2011. Toyota also highlighted that it would launch three new models in February which are expected to generate further sales for the brand, they are the all new Land Cruiser and Verso S models as well as Auris Van.
Commenting on the news, David Shannon, Managing Director of Toyota Ireland said:

All of these elements have combined with our continued great offers on scrappage making for a very positive beginning to 2011 despite the tough economic environment in which we operate".
